What to do in Maui
Haleakala Crater and National Park. Haleakala is a popular destination in Maui because of its volcanic terrain and breathtaking scenery that just sits over 10,000 feet above the sea. The crater is called the house of the rising sun because of its great sunrise views. It is also home to a couple of endangered species that can only be found on the island.
Whale watching. Every winter, thousands of humpback whales migrate to Hawaii’s ocean because of the warm weather. These humpback whales mostly enjoy their summer months in Alaska, but once the weather becomes too cold for them, they will travel 5600 km from Alaska to Hawaii which will take them 6 to 8 weeks.
Waterfall swimming. Along the popular road to Hana, you will find the most accessible waterfalls on Maui. The trip to Hana is rewarding enough, what more if you are given a chance to take a dip after a long hot day? The waters are crystal, refreshing and spectacular, you may not want to get out. Make sure to pack your swimming suit for the day!
